Jon is originally from Springport, IN where he is a graduate of Blue River Valley High School. Jon joined the staff of Blue River Valley after graduation. (which gained him 3 consecutive Class D State Runner-up finishes). He then joined the Glassmen Drum and Bugle corps where he marched "soprano" for 3 seasons - 94, 95, 96. After "Aging out" of the Glassmen, Jon was asked to be on the visual staff. While on staff he was part of the highest finish in the Corps' history - 5th place (98 and 99).
Jon currently is the visual designer for several marching bands in the state including Bluffton, Norwell, Blue River Valley, and Carroll. He has also served on visual staff for Homestead High School since 1996. In addition to his marching band experience, Jon is well-seasoned in both winter percussion and winter guard; where he has instructed and designed for several groups in Indiana and Florida. Jon has a bachelor's degree in marketing from Indiana Institute of technology, but his true passion lies with the marching arts.
Jon is happily married to his wife Jen and is a father of three children (Christopher, Makinzie, and Thomas).
His expertise has gained him an immense sense of pride and recognition with both high school bands and its music community.
Jon considers it an honor to have the opportunity to design for Norwell High School. He is excited about the direction of the program and looks forward to the bright future that Norwell has ahead of it.
Mike is active as a composer and arranger for band programs across the country as well as being a frequent guest conductor and adjudicator. He has been Associate Director of Bands at Carmel High School in Carmel, IN, since 1993. Mike has also been the arranger for Norwell band since 2001.
Rebecca Goshorn is a 2009 graduate of Norwell High School. While at Norwell, Rebecca played flute for four years in marching band, where two of those years she had solos in the marching show and was section leader for 3 years. Rebecca also participated in Winter Drumline for 3 years playing vibraphone one year and marching cymbals for 2 years. During her time at Norwell, Rebecca was part of the 2005 and 2006 ISSMA marching band state championships, 2005 and 2008 BOA regional championships, 2008 marching band state runner up, and 2006 IPA state championship. Throughout high school, she played in ISSMA solo and ensemble, concert band, and pep band. Currently, Rebecca is a nursing student at Indiana Wesleyan University where she intends to graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2013. This will be Rebecca's second year working with Norwell Band.
